📌 ¿Cuál es la diferencia?

En inglés existen varias formas de hablar del futuro, pero las dos más importantes son WILL y BE GOING TO. Ambas hablan del futuro, pero no se usan en las mismas situaciones.

🟣 1. Futuro con WILL
WILL sujeto + will + verbo base
Spontaneous · Promises · Predictions
✅ 1. Decisiones espontáneas

Decides algo mientras hablas — en el momento.

I will answer the phone. → Voy a contestar el teléfono.
I will take a nap. → Me voy a tomar una siesta.
I will buy it. → Lo compraré.
✅ 2. Promesas

Comprometerse con alguien a hacer algo.

I will help you with your homework. → Te ayudaré con tu tarea.
I will call you later. → Te llamaré más tarde.
I will always support you. → Siempre te apoyaré.
✅ 3. Ofrecimientos

Ofrecerse voluntariamente a hacer algo por alguien.

I will open the door. → Yo abro la puerta.
I will carry your bag. → Cargaré tu bolsa.
✅ 4. Predicciones (opinión)

Creemos algo sin evidencia clara — solo opinión.

I think it will rain tomorrow. → Creo que lloverá mañana.
She will love this gift. → A ella le encantará este regalo.
🧱 Estructura de WILL
Afirmativa
Sujeto + will + verbo base I will study tonight. / She will travel tomorrow.
Negativa
Sujeto + will not (won't) + verbo base I won't go. / She will not come.
Pregunta
Will + sujeto + verbo base? Will you help me? / Will she call you?
💡 Contracción: will not → WON'T She won't come. — I won't do it. — They won't wait.

BE GOING TO sujeto + am/is/are + going to + verbo base

Algo que ya decidiste antes de hablar.

I am going to study medicine. → Voy a estudiar medicina.
We are going to travel next month. → Vamos a viajar el próximo mes.
She is going to start a new job. → Ella va a empezar un nuevo trabajo.
✅ 2. Predicciones con evidencia

Algo que se ve venir — hay señales claras.

It is going to rain. → Va a llover. (hay nubes)
He is going to fall asleep. → Se va a quedar dormido. (se ve cansado)
They are going to lose. → Van a perder. (van perdiendo)

Afirmativa
Sujeto + am/is/are going to + verbo base I am going to study. / She is going to work. / They are going to travel.
Negativa
Sujeto + am/is/are not going to + verbo I am not going to go. / They are not going to buy it.
Pregunta
Am/Is/Are + sujeto + going to + verbo? Are you going to study? / Is she going to call you?

GOING TO Planes ya decididos e intenciones. Predicciones basadas en evidencia visible.
WILL + verbo No cambia con el sujeto. I/she/they will go — siempre igual.
am/is/are + going to Cambia según el sujeto — am (I), is (he/she/it), are (you/we/they).
